Capita Super DOA review
One of the hottest new boards out there for 23/24, is it right for you?
I recently spent some time with the highly anticipated Capita Super DOA 2024 snowboard, and as expected, it lived up to its reputation as one of the best all-mountain boards on the market.
First and foremost, the construction and design of the Super DOA 2024 are top-notch. Capita has employed their cutting-edge technology and materials to create a board that is not only incredibly lightweight but also remarkably durable. The board features a hybrid camber profile, which combines camber and rocker elements, offering the perfect blend of responsiveness, stability, and playfulness.
Riding the Super DOA 2024 was exactly as I expected it to be. The board provided an excellent balance of control and forgiveness, allowing me to confidently tackle various terrains and conditions. Whether I was carving down groomed slopes, manouvering through tight trees, or hitting the terrain park, the board felt responsive and predictable. It gripped the edges well, providing a sense of security even on icy patches.
What impressed me the most was its pop and snap. The board's lively and energetic nature made ollies and jumps feel effortless. The Super DOA's carbon-fibre additives further enhanced its torsional stiffness, delivering optimal power transfer and edge hold, even when charging at higher speeds.
Additionally, the Super DOA's sintered base lived up to its reputation for being fast. It glided smoothly across the snow, reducing drag and allowing for more extended, enjoyable runs. The base is relatively low-maintenance, which is always a plus.
The board's all-mountain versatility is its biggest selling point. It performed admirably in powder, displaying ample floatation and control. The directional twin shape offered versatility for riding switch, though it may not feel as comfortable as a true twin for those who prefer dedicated park riding.
One minor drawback I noticed was the board's stiffness. While it contributed to its powerful performance, it might not be the best option for beginners or riders who prefer a more forgiving ride. However, intermediate to advanced riders seeking an aggressive and responsive board will undoubtedly appreciate the Super DOA's capabilities.
In terms of aesthetics, Capita's graphics team hit the mark with the Super DOA 2024. Capita boards of late have featured a mostly sleek minimal design rather than the shouty day-glo offerings from other brands and it think it compliments the tight technical nature of the boards.
To sum up, the Capita Super DOA 2024 is an outstanding all-mountain snowboard that lives up to its hype. Its advanced construction, responsive performance, and all-terrain adaptability make it an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced riders seeking a high-performance board. While it may not be the most forgiving option for beginners, experienced riders looking for a versatile and powerful ride will find the Super DOA 2024 to be a valuable addition to their snowboard quiver.
