Best Mens Budget Snowboard Bindings 2024
Best budget snowboard bindings 23/24
.
Lets be clear, Snowboarding is expensive.. very. By the time you have all the gear you are normally into thousands which is why most people when starting out will rent rather than buy, and that makes sense. I mean, why buy all this gear if you are not sure yet whether you’ll stick at it or not?
.
But the danger with that is you are then swapping from rental set-ups to rental set-ups, just taking whatever they have on the day you want to conquer the mountain.. and that can be confusing and hamper your progress. One board and binding combination can feel very different to another so you spend the first half of the day wondering why you are so much worse than you were the day or week before. It sucks.
.
Fortunately there’s a lot of ‘budget’ kit out there, I say ‘budget’ carefully because it implies that the equipment is of a lower quality or not as desirable and that’s just not the case, think of it this way. A ‘budget’ binding in 2024 is as good or better as a ‘pro’ model binding from 2018, and they were fine then.. have we drastically changed the way we slide down a snowy mountain in the past few years? Not really.. so what are we spending all this cash for? Looks and flash? Well, yeah probably.. and there’s nothing at all wrong with that. But lets see if we can mix it up a bit and get people having fun for less this year!
.
I am reminded of a quote said to me years ago when I was mountain bike shopping in a local specialist place.. “the best mountain bike in the world is the one you’re riding today” and its true. Am I going to have more or less fun on a cheaper bike that a more expensive one? Because that is what this is about for 99% of people.. fun. Am I going to go faster, jump higher on a more expensive bike, well yeah most likely.. will I have more fun relative to the extra money spent? Debatable.
.
So with all that in mind lets look at some absolutely killer bits of kit and see if we can get you out and shredding the mountain without shredding your bank account, giving you more money for apres drinkies.. because as we all know, being slightly drunk will give you better performance in snowboarding than having more expensive equipment.
.
There’s some consumer advice you didn’t expect from a snowboarding equipment retailer.
.
For this list we are looking at the best budget snowboard bindings, with the emphasis on best. For sure there are some cheapy cheap bindings out there that may last you a trip and not be particularly fun to use, but for me that’s not good value. To make it on this list a binding has to have the best cost per use basis.. so if you pay a bit more but they last five years instead of one.. that is what we are looking for. With that in mind, lets check them out..
.
1. Union STR - £184.99
So this binding wouldn’t normally be on this list due to the high price point at £184.99 but it just makes the cut due to its absolutely amazing spec and looks relative to the cost. The STR is basically a baby Atlas (Atlas being a serious professionals binding retailing at £309.99) with tonnes of trickle down tech coming from the STR’s bigger brother. It is a perfect binding for beginners and intermediates due to the stiff and responsive chassis, this is a snowboard binding that could last you years before you ever feel the need to upgrade for more performance.
.
It is packed full of premium features such as the aluminium heel cup, duraplate highback and super durable Exoframe ratchet strap. It has Unions well known bombproof construction so this binding will last through years of abuse.
.
It comes in four colourways so you are guaranteed to find one that suits your boards and with the 15% pre season discount being applied by us until xmas.. its even more of a bargain.

2. Ride C2 - £174.95
A seriously cool looking binding from Ride coming in at a decent price. This particular snowboard binding has been designed to take you from beginner through intermediate which means it will last you a good amount of time before you feel you need more performance from your equipment.
.
The binding comes in two colourways, black and what they call tan but is really a creamy white with grey heel cup. I like the simplicity, especially given how bonkers some of Rides Snowboards are, they most likely made these quite calm to compliment. You do get a huge Ride logo on the back of the heel cup so everyone will know what team you’re on.
.
These bindings are packed with technology which you’d imagine from a brand like Ride and they are best suited to the park or freestyle rider that wants plenty of give in their bindings, you are not going to be setting any new records for fastest carves or most aggressive lines but lets face it.. would you be anyway?
Awesome bindings at a great price.

3. Salomon Rhythym - £159.95
As you’d expect from a brand like Salomon these bindings are going to give you amazing performance and awesome durability. Salomon have been making snowboard bindings forever so they know what they are doing.
.
The Rhythm come with loads of features that used to only exist on every high end bindings. Such as, Tool free strap adjustment so you can get your fit just so, quick release highjack adjustment, supreme light straps to ensure a perfect and very comfortable fit and an angled deck and highback to give you more natural stance.
These bindings are super comfy to spend time in and have a playful relaxed flex so that any mistakes can be easily corrected.
.
They are also fully unisex so come in a huge range of colours to suit everyone. My particular fave is the Oil Green, Go get em now.

Bataleon E-stroyer - £163.99
This is a super forgiving and easy to get to grips with set of bindings, aimed squarely at beginners who want something that doesn’t have the twitchiness that a more responsive binding can give you. If you want to simply have fun rather than get all competitive then these are for you.
.
The design is definitely classed as minimal, you wouldn’t even know who made them until you got up close, like inches away type of up close, which for some people is a good thing. Not everybody wants huge logos or lairy colours everywhere so for those people these bindings are spot on. They are available in black or , well black.. so they’ll go with everything.
.
Tech wise they have all the features you would expect. The asymmetrical highback ensures comfort and a decent level or responsiveness without being too reactive, while fully adjustable moulded straps keep things comfy up front.
.
For a beginner or an intermediate that wants an easy to use binding, these are highly recommended.. strap in and enjoy the mountain with no stress.
